DEVELOPER BUYS MORE IN ANDOVER

It looks like Paul Jackson of Vantage Point Properties has a lot more planned along Kellogg in Andover than what he's mentioned so far.

In February, Jackson said he'd soon announce plans for a 60-acre commercial development. The land is on the southeast corner of Kellogg and Andover Road.

Jackson now has another 73 acres under contract immediately to the east of the 60 he already owns. He says he's trying to buy the extra acreage, but he won't discuss his plans for any of the Kellogg property.

"I'm talking with several groups right now," he says. "For us to announce anything, it's far too preliminary." But sources say the Dillons on the northeast corner of Kellogg and Andover will be moving across the street and significantly expanding.

Plats filed with the city of Andover indicate that there will be two other big-box buildings on that 60 acres, one of which is likely to be a Home Depot. There will be room for smaller businesses in front of the three large stores.

It looks like the 73 acres would be a more of a mixed-use development, including residential near the back of the property, a new school and a YMCA, along with some commercial development.

"Well, I would say that's an awful lot of conjecture," Jackson says. "We're talking with a large number of folks. I don't have anybody signed up."
